(Part 1)
Bylin dipped her finger into the green sludge that flowed in and around the Undercity and inspected it closely. The goo no longer appealed to her as it once did, in part that made her glad, in another she missed the peace and tranquil it had brought her.
Bylin shook her head, she was different. Different then she had been before, when she was under the warlocks power, and different then she was before this whole mess with magics had even started. It was not unusal for people to change, she supposed people changed all the time, probably every day. She wondered though, did everyone know how, why, where or even the exact moments they had changed? For she knew. She knew every twist and turn and reason for how she had become what she was, and no matter how she tried to go back - she couldn't.
She was a cold, heartless, ruthless orc. She attacked people at random with no motivation or guidance to her actions. She was lost, she knew she was lost - what was worse, she knew the exact path she had taken to get here.
Rising to her feet, Bylin scowled and crushed a thingyroach under the weight of her hammer. She missed her carefree days of lounging around in the Bluffs, of the pleasures of her many partners. It seemed another life ago that the cursed crystal had taken it all away from her, infact, two lives ago.
Hell she even missed the tranquility and love, how ever false it had been, that the warlock had brought her.
Bylin spit. Love was a fools game. The cold reality was everyone was after something from someone else, the trick was to get it without losing anything in return. Strapping her weapons to her hips once more, Bylin turned and headed up the steps leading out of Undercity.
She was done with this place, done with its cursed memories. There was money to be made, and people to exploit. I sly smirk crossed Bylin's lips, there was always work available for those who didn't care who they had to kill or why.
